These Jack-o-Lantern whoopie pies are perfect for handing out or as a treat for any Halloween themed party. They are bite-sized, sweet and spooky!
I used a Whoopie Pie box mix to make things easier, you can also use a normal cake mix (vanilla
works well if you add orange food coloring), but you can always make them from scratch (try this recipe over here).
It's very easy to turn your whoopie pies into little adorable or scary Jack-o-Lantern faces, you just need Candy Melts or dark chocolate and white chocolate.
1. After making the whoopie pies and letting them cool in the fridge at least an hour, melt the white chocolate and add green food coloring (or melt green Candy Melts) in the microwave (start with 15 seconds, then stir, and microwave again if needed for 10 seconds, be careful not to heat too much), transfer it into a small ziplock bag and pipe long lines to make the pumpkin stems. It's okay if they're messy, try to make them thick. Refrigerate until set.
2. Melt the dark chocolate to draw the faces on the whoopie pies, I used a toothpick, but you can transfer it into a ziplock bag and pipe it as well. Make them as cute or scary as you want!
3. Finally stick the white chocolate stems, and your Jack-o-Lantern whoopie pies are done!
For handing them out it's best to wrap each whoopie pie individually.
