Ingredients:

(makes about 4 square waffles)

- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Ice-cream of your choice
- Whipped cream
- Sprinkles of your choice

Procedure:

- In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients together: flour, salt, baking powder and granulated sugar. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, mash a ripe banana with a fork, add in an egg and oil. Mix well until combined.
- Add warm milk to the banana mixture and stir.
- Mix banana mixture into the dry ingredients and lightly whisk to combine. Lumps are okay, but get rid of large flour pockets, if any.

Slightly lumpy Banana waffle batter
This is what the banana waffles batter looks like, lumpy is fine.

- Preheat your waffle maker, ladle on the batter and cook as per waffle maker's instructions. And cook until you use up all the batter.
- Serve with sliced bananas, three scoops of ice-cream (the original Banana-Split uses strawberry, vanilla and chocolate, I used vanilla, chocolate and cream), whipped cream and sprinkles.

You can also add chocolate syrup and nuts if you want! Or you may simply serve it with sliced bananas and Nutella! Which toppings do you prefer on your waffles?
